May, 2000 IRS allows most small businesses to use cash method.

Under a new revenue procedure, taxpayers with average annual gross receipts of $1 million or less will no longer have to account for inventories or use the accrual method of accounting for purchases and sales of merchandise. To qualify, taxpayer also must use the cash method for book purposes.
